Indie Theatre

The Red Sandcastle Theatre receives no operating grants from any level of government. We remain open entirely from Eldritch Theatre tickets sales, and from the rent we receive from the Indie Theatre companies that produce shows in our venue.

Our rental fees are the lowest in the city. But in order to keep these costs down for Indie Companies and to continue to produce our own ghoulishly giddy work, we need your help!

On top of that, we need to to upgrade our sound system, fix our flooring, and install a modern, more environmentally friendly LED lighting system.

Help us subsidize rent for our Resident Theatre Company and fellow artists so they can focus on creating new works.

Repair

More than a paint job, our space needs some hard work done to it to make our creators and audiences safe and comfortable.

Restore

Join us in restoring the magic to this little black box theatre with new or new to us items that will create a welcoming and imagination friendly space.

Next Level Donations

In 2021 we asked for your help, and you answered: we raised close to $30k dollars with partial funding from the Government of Canada. We put that towards a long list of repairs and restoration such as fixing the broken front window, air conditioners, and new dimmer packs for the light board. Safety features like our new risers, electrical grid upgrade, and HEPA filters allow us to have a welcoming space for audiences and creative artists alike.

FAQ

What will you spend the money on?

We want to continue improving the space with more renovations: a better sound system, $5k towards a complete LED light grid, better flooring (completed Spring 2023!)… But also helping subsidize our overhead to keep the rent low for creators to come in and stage their shows!

How long will my perk take to get to me?

It depends on the perk! Some require time to make it JUST FOR YOU! Some will be a matter of mailing it, or dropping it off in the GTA. Some are quick as an email. But best to give us a few weeks to make them and deliver the. If you are getting anxious send us an email, we are happy to answer!

What if I want to be an anonymous donor?

We are just so thankful you decided to help us out, whatever way you want to be thanked is good by us. Just be sure to leave a note or send an email that you don’t want your name published on our social media because we will want to shout from the rooftops how much we love you (but if that makes you uncomfortable we won’t!)

What if I don't want a perk?

That’s totally up to you! You could gift it to someone after you receive it, or email us and we can dedicate it to someone on your behalf.
